Gwen Stefani

Gwen StefaniGwen StefaniGwen StefaniGwen StefaniGwen Stefani\

Gwen is notorious for playing out her personal struggles in songs she has written. One of the best-known examples of Gwen's emotional outpourings is the hit 1996 single "Don't Speak" from No Doubt's album Tragic Kingdom, which was about her breakup with fellow bandmate Tony Kanal. Another example is the song "What You Waiting For?" from her first solo album, which was an ode to her lifelong desire to be a mother.

Gwen says that when she was growing up she never fantasized about being a rock star or being famous; she was content with having a boyfriend (fellow No Doubt band mate Tony Kanal) and dreaming about getting married one day. She also didn't think she was talented, and thought she was really lazy.

Gwen's single "Hollaback Girl" from her first solo album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. was the first single to sell one million digital downloads in the U.S.
